A follow-up to the previous Blog “Was That A Gunshot?”

This is a follow-up to our blog about our damaged windshield and getting a replacement installed. We had the window replaced at our residence, and everything appeared to be fine until we took it on our next camping trip, and it was raining. While driving down the road, I noticed several water trails running from the top of the windshield to the bottom. I originally thought they were on the outside of the windscreen, but I was wrong! The water was running down the inside of the windshield! Well, that is a problem!

We contacted the glass company, and they said that this happens occasionally. I guess I am just lucky in that way! The rubber gasket around the windshield did not seal properly when it was installed. That means the windshield has to be removed, and the gasket has to be replaced again. It also meant that getting the gasket would take some time.

A month later, the company contacted me to reschedule the windshield reinstallation and requested that we take it to their shop for repair, and we did that. They kept it for a day and overnight to repair everything and to allow the sealants to set. We picked up the RV and brought it home. It has been sitting for a week now, and the weather has been snowy and windy. I have not had a chance to find leaks. I intend to check it in the next week or so. Hopefully, this is the end of this saga. I will let you know.
